PIANO & VIOLIN

The duo of Leonardo Reyna and violinist Judith de Haas began not on a concert stage, but in the quiet intensity of study at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin in 2009. Years later, during the isolation of the pandemic, they returned to one another’s musical worlds, meeting daily at the home of Judith’s parents in the Dutch countryside. There, in the small intimacy of her great-grandmother’s piano, they began to play together as a way of surviving the long days of confinement, recording each session and letting the emotion of the moment — the rustle of trees, the shift of light — seep into the music.

What began as daily experiments became a living repertoire, stretching from Beethoven’s classical clarity to Piazzolla’s tango-infused passion. Without professional cameras or microphones, they shared their small concerts with friends, capturing honesty over perfection, intimacy over spectacle. Today, the duo has performed in the Netherlands, Germany, Cuba, and the United States, carrying forward the same spirit of discovery, trust, and shared expression that first defined their collaboration.
